Center for Advanced & Continuing Education

An innovator in health professions education, Rutgers SHP offers a variety of opportunities for health professionals to meet their advanced and continuing education needs.  The programs and courses, which are designed to meet the diverse needs of health professionals, range from single session short-term courses to advanced certificates in specific professional areas.  Several certificates are offered jointly with other schools of Rutgers University, emphasizing inter-professional education.  Many of the advanced certificates are academically based, meaning that the credits earned towards the certificate may be applied to degree programs of the Rutgers School of Health Professions.  CEU's are approved through the appropriate professional associations and courses are offered on-campus or online, depending upon the health professional's needs and availability. CACE program features include:

  • Courses taught by full-time university faculty
  • The ability to earn continuing education or academic credit from the largest health sciences university of its kind in the nation
  • Opportunities to interact with health professionals from all over the country
  • The ability to earn academic credit as a non-matriculated student with the possibility of applying credit towards one of many degree programs offered by SHP
