No only games on demand games do that
Disc games can sometimes be installed but the disc has to remain in the bulldoze to rub

Seems a little ridiculous that they want you to buy a game that you already ain just for convenience of play.
I don't see any reason why I shouldn't be able to have everything on my HD and non need the disc. I've already bought the game. I legally own it.
This is the reason people wait into hacking and modding their systems.

Still you are rhe one that is refering to shaddy. Methods
There is no lawful way to copy a disc based console game into a console
All consoles require disk validation
If you desire diskless your only legal option is to buy digital
But pc games have options to install but most still require deejay validation
Yous are looking at the wrong marketplace
If you want disklesss choice so digital is the only manner
There is no lawful method in whatsoever region to backup any gane onto a hd

I didn't say I would practise it, I said I can see how some people would be tempted considering of these impaired limitations.
If I purchase a cd I can legally copy information technology to my Hd, I can make a re-create for back up in case I scratch it too.
I'm sure music is a bigger marketplace for piracy, but I still tin can back up something I've paid for already.
Correct now I've got one game that the disc got and then scratched that it won't read. I can't play that game any more without purchasing it once again. Had I been able to back information technology up I could still play it.
I just think it's less about piracy every bit those people volition find a way if they want it bad enough, and more virtually the large corporations knowing that young kids won't have intendance of them and parents volition exist forced to go along buying the same game over and over.
If I purchased it legally I should be able to protect my investment by backing it upwards.

If you had installed that game prior to the scratch, you could still play information technology.
In one case installed the xbox merely needs to read the discs security lawmaking.
You lot could borrow or rent that game again, install it and then use your copy again.
If y'all could practise what yous are asking and support all your games to your drive, you would never buy retail games again, no one would.
All nosotros would practice is rent or borrow games, install them and render them.
The video game industry would dice a quick expiry.

@allarian y'all forget at that place is no legal right to backup anytingWhat you are quoting is a misquote
Off-white utilize is a suggestion non an actual law
Piracy is not legal in any state
You are merely allowed to fill-in approved methods ij current instance by not self back uo but the shipping ccst of the disk at most publishers available at 20 bucks a pop
Rherr is no legal way to backup disks doing so without the consent of rhe publisher is a violation of the international laws
Music is non the same every bit software
You may not bypass the drm controls and are enforced past international laws
Fairuse wasnt extended to dvds or games if they circumvent drm rules of the systeems so again there is no legal way

"Police force abiding citizens"? Get off your rear, information technology'south a disc. You can't play discless unless it's a Game On Demand. If yous're that lazy then consider purchasing your discs in digital format. It'south non a dumb limitation. It's like buying a shirt and then saying yous don't desire to wear it considering it's "protecting your investment". You purchase something, you utilize it, regular habiliment and tear breaks information technology. Even having discs sit there--somewhen the plastic will autumn autonomously. Either you lot want to use it or you don't. Piracy isn't "tempting". Frankly the amount of piece of work it takes to get pirated copies working, and staying ahead of DRM is beyond what any "lazy" person like you would do.

If y'all could install games and play without the disc fifty-fifty law abiding citizens would abuse information technology.
Borrow or rent a disc, install it then get the game for free. Developers and publishers would go bankrupt and at that place would be no more than games beingness made.
As for needing to backup. Just look after your discs. Put them back in the case when non using them. My games I had 9 years agone when 360 outset launched all the same work and accept no scratches. I even have games for the original xbox that are over 10 years quondam I all the same play occasionally and they piece of work fine..
